Stories of the Ukhozi have been passed down for over ten-thousand years, yet no one knows what he is. The man is often seen dressed and black robes and claims to be a Priest of the Prophet, yet his life extends well before the existence of the Prophecy.
Through time, the Ukhozi has only ever appeared during times of great significance. He is often seen offering advice to those who are integral to the events that are about to transpire.
The last time he made his presence known was over a thousand years ago when the Magnate called all the Paragon together to combat a terrible threat. Though he'd simply expressed his wish to observe, it was noted by the conclave that the Ukhozi seemed predominantly interested in a Paragon known as the Ancient.
Within days, two Paragon were dead, including the Ancient herself. It is believed that the Ukhozi taught her how to destroy the souls of other Paragons, a power that allowed her to end the threat. In using it however, her own soul was damaged so badly that she has not been reborn since.
Since the birth of Michael Bayne, the Ukhozi has appeared repeatedly, often offering advice to the god who seems to want nothing more than to be rid of him.
The Sato Clan
The Sato clan is a group of vampires originating in Japan. Intensely loyal, they are highly regarded among the vampire community.
Their most prominent ability is Mimicry, which allows them to pull life force from a person and use it to become them. Mimicry will allow those who know it to imitate everything from appearance to speech patterns. Its one weakness is that it cannot mimic the color of the eyes.
The Sato Clan guards this ability carefully. It is forbidden for any of their clan to teach an outsider without the permission from the Clan's Paragon, a woman who was killed by the ShadowCrafter and is not yet reborn.
The Paragon William MacGregor, was well respected among members of the Sato clan before the Alley killed him. One of William's closest friends was a man named Jun Sato. Before the Sato Clan Paragon died, she instructed Jun to serve as William's Guardian. His role as such saw him oversee the protection of William's young human lover, Estellia Highlander.
The Warriors of Light
The Warriors of Light are an ancient group of vampire hunters who manifested supernatural powers. Deemed to be too great of a threat to the vampire population, the Magnate wiped out their bloodline.
In the last hundred years, people manifesting these abilities have begun to surface again, and their numbers are growing steadily.
